Full-length EVA midsoles are combined with X-2 O2™ air pod inserts to absorb impact in the heels. Highly breathable mesh uppers have abrasion-resistant synthetic leather overlays in high-wear areas; molded rubber toe caps protect feet and uppers. Injection-molded thermoplastic urethane shank plates protect feet against sharp rocks and stabilize ride across uneven terrain. Northotic™ ergonomically-designed, multi-density footbeds with AgION topsheets offer superb stability and cushioning. Odor-fighting AgION® nylon linings wick away excess moisture for quick drying and use silver threads to help curb bacterial growth. Over-pronators enjoy increased stability with Extended Roll Control™, which stops the heel from rolling inward and promotes an accurate stride. Scree gaiter attachments for optional low-cut gaiters help keep out trail debris; reflective accents improve low-light visibility.
